Macedonian sculptor İbrahim Kaloshi, who has lived in Istanbul since he was 10 years old, is now preparing to open his third solo exhibition at Arnavutköy’s Selvin Art Gallery.

Kaloshi believes the most important aspects of his works are hidden in their composition.
“The composition and movement of my sculptures reflects the very moment,” he said.

Kaloshi prefers to be an unconventional sculptor, refusing to freeze the moment with his sculptures. He prefers to give a certain movement to his works with his unique composition.

The perception of “moment” in Kaloshi’s works is contrastive. He tries to vary the movement in his sculptures, and reflects the moment’s energy in his compositions, hoping the audience will find hidden feelings in them.

“I tried to reflect my feelings without putting any space between my sensations and form,” said Kaloshi. “I tried to reflect my feelings as they are, without adding anything, and leaving them as pure as possible.”
During this process of creation, Kaloshi said he prefers to reflect on his childhood by using large-scale female sculptures.

Varying dynamic features also allow the sculptor’s works to serve as examples of futurism.
The exhibition runs through Oct. 3.
